Rangelands are by far the most widespread land use in non-tropical dry areas, and are home to most of its poorest inhabitants. Having low productivity and potential, they have often been overlooked in terms of research and development, and the people they support remain largely marginalized. Droughts and overgrazing continue to lead to widespread land degradation and desertiï¬cation. But ICARDA is leading the way in reversing these trends by developing and implementing better methods to improve rangeland management. source: introduction
