Public lands are lands and waters owned by all Americans and managed for us by the federal government. Over one quarter of America’s land mass is public land. These 640 million acres are managed for us primarily by four U.S. land management agencies: The Bureau of Land Management,The United States Forest Service,The United States Fish and Wildlife Service, and The National Park Service.
