Animal activity and the distribution of' faeces were studied on a small paddock grazed intensively by Merino sheep. Irrespective of whether sites were used for camping or grazing, the pattern of faeces weight differences across the paddock was focussed on the camp and reflected total sheep time per unit area. However, defaecation was observed to be associated with activity on the camp and the amount of faeces on the paddock at Zarge found to be a function of the time at which a site was traversed following a period of rest. . . . .
