The Department of Animal and Veterinary Science (AVS) prepares students for careers in the fields of animal science-production, dairy science, agribusiness, range livestock management and pre-veterinary science. In a fast-changing agricultural industry, AVS prides itself on staying at the forefront of animal science. We will provide you with a wide range of curriculum choices in traditional production sciences, as well as the high-tech area of biotechnology. You will receive both hands on experience and classroom instruction. The mission of AVS is to conduct focused, comprehensive and integrated research and teaching programs, which directly support animal agriculture.
