Extension Natural Resource programs for Gila County are varied to meet the many educational needs for the county. They are designed to help the public and resource managers make informed decisions about complex environmental issues that influence quality of life and create a better understanding of natural processes that influence resource sustainability. Research-based educational programs are delivered in the following areas: wildfire education and Firewise activities, climate variability/change and ecosystem impacts, watershed stewardship, weed management, and range monitoring. These are areas where county extension leadership finds a cooperative niche and can make a real difference for people of Gila County and for Arizona.
