Woody Plant Control Through Patch-burning and Multi-species Grazing with Cattle and Goats
The Prairie Project logo
Oklahoma State University is involved in a multi-state project combining research, extension and education. The goal is to explore and educate the public on sustainable methods for controlling woody vegetation encroachment.

Prescribed fire and grazing have been used in the past to manage native ecosystems but the application of patch-burning along with multi-species grazing may provide enhanced benefits for producers, wildlife and native ecosystems.

Follow along as we apply patch-burning, cattle grazing and goat browsing to see the effect on woody plants.
