Veld improvement in Swaziland through the introduction of a tropical legume

Stylosanthes guyanensis was successfully sod?sown in natural grassland in Swaziland's subtropical Middle?veld. Introduction of the legume considerably improved yields and protein?content of the herbage. A new strain of Stylosanthes has recently been obtained which is better adapted to heavy grazing and trampling than the common type.
