Body
Between 1967 and 1973 almost 300 legume introductions were screened in the nursery at Grasslands Research Station. The legumes were grown in unreplicated beds and their characteristics noted. Records included growth habit, vigour, nodulation, time of flowering, seed set, winter greenness and persistence. Certain features of the legumes and their apparent pasture potential are tabulated. Possible criticisms of the procedure adopted are discussed and suggestions are made for further testing of the most promising strains.
