Ramon Ahumada was born in the state of Sonora just across the border from Sasabe, Arizona on August 31, 1868. Brought to Arizona by his uncle, he began to learn the cattle business at a young age. Known as an exemplary cattleman, he became a central figure in the Altar Valley until his death on January 13th, 1926.
