In this article, Kasulaitis takes us through the life of John "Yank" Bartlett, the founder of the town of Oro Blanco. Bartlett arrived in Arizona in 1873. Born in New Hampshire, Bartlett quickly took to the frontier lifestyle, playing a central role in the management of several mines in the Arivaca area. Bartlett died at the age of 70 in 1905, leaving behind a large family and an extensive estate.
