Determine Biologically Capable as a Function of Standing Residual Vegetation and Visual Obstruction for Selected Ecological Sites in the Dakota Prairie Grasslands
Publication Year
2013
Body
Visual Obstruction Readings (VOR) is a non-destructive measurement of height and density (structure) determined using a Robel pole. VOR was used to determine if three ecological sites in the Northern Plains (loamy, thin loamy/limy backslope and claypan) are biologically capable of producing 8.89 cm (3.5 in) of structure.
