Body
This commentary compares two regions of the United States that differ drastically in physical attributes, but, in the authors' eyes, are united by a common "environment of risk." Residents of coastal Louisiana are faced with the constant threat of hurricanes and landscape change while those living and working in the Altar Valley of southern Arizona must cope with periodic droughts and the complications of border enforcement.
