Disturbance, diversity, and invasion: Implications for conservation
Author
Hobbs, R. J., L. F. Huenneke
Publication Year
1969
Body

Review of several types of disturbances on the health and invasibility of natural plant communities. In the grazing section of the paper, the authors state that grazing is only detrimental in areas that evolved without it, or only recently implemented grazing. Likewise, communities that evolved with grazing become more susceptible to weed invasions when grazing is removed.
