Dynamical effects of the statistical structure of annual rainfall on dryland vegetation
Author
Williams, C. A., J. D. Albertson
Publication Year
1969
Body

With this model, Williams and Albertson examine how annual rainfall and grazing intensity interact statistically to influence dryland vegetation. Both higher grazing intensity and lower annual rainfall caused more frequent and longer duration degradation on the grass condition. An unexpected outcome was that, under low grazing intensity, increased rainfall variability caused longer duration degradation; while under high grazing intensity, that degradation duration was shorter.
