Body

Effect of three grazing regimes on the habitat selection of passerines and nest selection of waterfowl along the St. Lawrence River in Quebec was examined. The study was conducted on three islands (Moine, Barques and Rhode island) of the Berthier-Sorel archipelago less than 100 km east of Montreal, Quebec. Each island was assigned to one of three grazing treatments (ungrazed, moderately grazed-<1 cow/ha/yr, or heavy grazed->1 cow/ha/yr). Vegetation measurements were taken in late May to early June while the duck nest survey was conducted between mid-May to early June. The passerine bird survey was conducted during the first two weeks of June.
