The point-centered quarter method of sampling grassland vegetation is critically examined. Statistical techniques of processing data collected by the method are presented. These techniques are discussed in the light of findings from a sampling experiment at Matopos Experiment Station, Rhodesia. This material was digitized as part of a cooperative project between the Society for Range Management and the University of Arizona Libraries.
