Pitfall trapping of ground dwelling beetles in burned and unburned stands of shrub steppe vegetation showed that the same four species occurred in both places. However, more Eleodes hispilabris and Pelecyphorus densicollis were caught in the unburned vegetation. This material was digitized as part of a cooperative project between the Society for Range Management and the University of Arizona Libraries.
