Soil pH changes on plots fertilized with ammonium-containing compounds indicated possible detrimental effects on range plant communities. The mechanism for the pH change and possible solution for correction of the problem are discussed. This material was digitized as part of a cooperative project between the Society for Range Management and the University of Arizona Libraries.
