One-square-meter frame was developed to estimate directly percent cover of vegetation. It is well adapted to semi-desert grassland and desert shrub types where vegetation cover does not exceed 100 percent. The device provides accuracy of estimates and saves recording time. This material was digitized as part of a cooperative project between the Society for Range Management and the University of Arizona Libraries.
