Body

Freeze branding appears to be a good method for marking cattle for individual identification. In three trials, over 80% of the branded animals developed readable brands, but only 60% could be identified on Super-8 film exposed from a distance of 5 ft overhead. This material was digitized as part of a cooperative project between the Society for Range Management and the University of Arizona Libraries.
