Germination of western wheatgrass was best when seeds were held for 16 hr at temperatures between 55 and 75 F and 8 hr at temperatures between 75 and 90 F daily. Germination was independent of light but was severely reduced by moisture stresses above 1.0 atm. This material was digitized as part of a cooperative project between the Society for Range Management and the University of Arizona Libraries.
