Fire on the range landscape is one of the single most important ecological processes affecting rangeland plant community dynamics. The proper application of prescribed fire has long been suppressed in the U.S. largely because of its public perception and confusion with the negative effects of wildfire. However over the past several years many organizations have been bringing fire back on the landscape with specific ecological objectives. There are opportunities for landowners to attain assistance with prescribed fire implementation and planning on their property. This presentation will discuss planning and implementation opportunities available to private landowners from private consultants, prescribed burn associations to state and federal agencies.
Oral presentation and poster titles, abstracts, and authors from the Society for Range Management (SRM) Annual Meetings and Tradeshows, from 2013 forward.
