The International Soil Reference and Information Centre (ISRIC) was founded in 1966 and serves the international community by providing information on the world's soils to help address major global issues. Its 3 priority areas are 1) soil data and soil mapping, 2) the application of soil data to development projects, and 3) training and education. The ISRIC website contains basic information on soil properties, function, and distribution, downloadable soil data sets, a searchable library of soil science resources, and information on their training and education programs, and projects.
