The vegetational changes in 32 plots of bushmangrass veld which had been grazed for four years at specific seasons of the year, were determined by means of the widely?spaced point method. The effect of summer grazing, front November to January, was to depress the basal cover of Stipagrostis ciliata as well as that of S. obtusa whilst the effect of winter grazing, from May to July, was to increase the basal cover of S. ciliata.
